Paul is building a new production hall in Dürmentingen. Part of the production will take place there from the beginning of 2026 on a floor area of 10,000 m². The external dimensions of the hall will be 160 x 60 metres. In the new hall, sheet metal will be cut and bent, welding and turning work will be carried out and anchor grips will be prepared. The new hall will also have a fully automated storage system, which was internally developed, produced and programmed at Paul.
The basic structure of the hall consists of concrete pillars and a total of 54 concrete trusses, which were prestressed by a precast factory using exclusively Paul equipment. The trusses have between 6 and 18 tendons with a length of 15 to 25 metres. The construction work is progressing well and the framework for the hall is already in place. The next step is the installation of the wall panels. Once the walls, windows and ceilings are closed, the interior work of the hall will be finished. The floor will be heated via concrete core activation and the energy source - as in other halls - will be district heating from the neighbouring biogas plant. Depending on the internal workload, the plan is to make parts of the building electrics in-house.
Paul moved to its current location in 2000 and was then able to celebrate its anniversary in the new halls. Following an extension in 2010, the new hall is already the fourth of its kind in Max Paul street in Dürmentingen and increases the floor space to 37,000 m². If everything goes according to plan, the new hall will be completed next year to mark the company's 100th anniversary.
