Timber construction of the future up close: Students visit Paul MaschinenfabrikWe would like to thank Biberach University of Applied Sciences for their interest.

On 15 January, around ten students from the Master's course in Timber Construction Engineering at Biberach University of Applied Sciences visited Paul Maschinenfabrik at its headquarters in Dürmentingen. The visit started with a detailed presentation in the showroom, where the visitors got to know the company's values, like the high vertical range of manufacture of the Upper Swabian family business or its willingness to consistently put innovative solutions into practice, by means of product films.

During the presentation, the two sales managers Maximilian Paul and Noah Bruttel introduced their audience to the entire range of circular sawing machines. They explained the different types of machines for cutting panels and solid wood, as well as for optimised cross-cutting, and how these individual machines, in combination with scanners, automatic feeding and stacking, become fully automatic ripping and cross-cutting systems with particularly high added value.

After a short break for coffee and snacks, those present went on a tour of the factory, including Paul's newly built production hall. The students took the opportunity to ask questions about the organisation, processes and working methods of the company. As an automatic cross-cut system was nearing completion and delivery to a customer in Spain, the visitors were able to see another high-end product from Paul Maschinenfabrik in action. The contents taught previously were thus not only theoretical, but also practical.

The visit to Paul ended with a discussion, during which a professional exchange took place between the students and Paul's employees. Paul Maschinenfabrik would like to thank the visitors from Biberach University of Applied Sciences and all employees involved for the informative exchange and looks forward to similar events taking place in the future.
