Towards a professional future with modern technology

On 1 September, twelve new apprentices started their careers at Paul. Five industrial mechanics, three mechatronics engineers, one industrial management assistant, two IT specialists (one female, one male) and one warehouse logistics specialist will be joining the team in future. During their first week at work, they got to know the company, the in-house training workshop and their future work areas. At a welcome barbecue, they were also able to make their first contacts with their new colleagues and training instructors.

Paul is a medium-sized mechanical engineering company with two sites in Germany. Paul develops and produces high-tech systems for the woodworking industry as well as equipment for the production of prestressed concrete. Thanks to its high-quality and reliable products, Paul enjoys international success in both business sectors and holds a leading position on the global market.

The company is making targeted investments in the training of young people so that it can continue to rely on qualified staff in the future. The in-house training workshop plays a central role in this. Since 1925, Paul has been training the next generation, thereby laying an important foundation for securing a supply of skilled staff for the company. With its modern machinery, the training workshop offers the ideal conditions for learning technical fundamentals and gaining practical experience.

Trainees are introduced, step by step, to the latest technologies and the demands of everyday working life. Two full-time training supervisors, along with other trainers in the various departments, assist our young colleagues on their journey. They share their specialist knowledge, encourage independent work and are always available to offer support if questions arise. It is not just about professional qualifications, but also about taking on responsibility and developing as part of the team. Even whilst they are still in training, junior employees are given the opportunity to gain practical experience and become familiar with Paul’s work processes at an early stage. In this way, Paul combines a solid vocational education with modern technology and real-world insights into the world of mechanical engineering.

Through its apprenticeship scheme, Paul takes responsibility for young people’s career prospects whilst also investing in the long-term development of its own business.
